The weekend before Christmas, Titi came into town to do our yearly Christmas cookie bake off. Ryker decided he wanted to be apart of all the fun, so he was given the task of unpeeling all the Rolo's for us. He did a great job (this kept him very busy) however, we may have come up quite a few short (he was packing them into his mouth as fast as he was unpeeling them). You can only imagine how tempting this job was for a toddler that loves his sweets yet has a mama that hardly lets him get any. I was reminded on several occasions that it was the holidays and to just let my little peanut indulge in his weaknesses ;)
To turn his focus away from all the chocolate , Kris and I got him involved in a gingerbread house kit that I got for him.
Ryker loved that he could do all the decorating on his own and functioned very independently (by his choice of coarse).
Every time I would attempt to help him he would tell me, "No Mom! I do it all by myself!"

Love this picture!
Ryker kept telling Kris and I that building his gingerbread house was "hard work!".

Getting a little help from mama ;)

And.........the finished product! Pretty dang cute it I do say so myself ;)

Side picture!
The fun (or as Ryker would say "hard work") didn't stop there! Once Ryker completed his gingerbread house, he wasted no time running to Titi and telling her "I help too!". Above is a picture of Titi and Ryker busy at work rolling our peanut butter blossoms balls in sugar. I think it's safe to say all 3 of us (Mimi, Titi and I) utterly enjoyed having another set of hands in the kitchen this year!!!
More Christmas and New Years updates to come!

  1. There is nothing "baby" about that kid anymore. He looks like such a big (or as my mom says, "bigga" ha ha) boy!!
