We kept our tradition going and this year we decorated and turned in a Mr.Potato head pumpkin (goes along with our Toy Story theme!) for the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival. I was a little bit sceptical and would have rather opted for something a tad bit easier, but as always my dad and Kris never disappoint and our Mr.Potato head pumpkin turned out great. Poor Ryker came down with a horrible cold the day before we had planned to decorate the pumpkin so he was a little under the weather during the pumpkin making part of our Mr.Potato head. However, once it was completed and he realized what it was, a huge smile came across his face and he kept saying, "Cool! Wow!".
After we turned in our pumpkin it was off to do some trick or treating downtown Sycamore. Thankfully Ryker was filling a tad bit better, so we bundled him up under his Buzz Lightyear Costume (would you have thought that he would have gone as anything else?!) and did some serious trick or treating.
This event is a pretty big deal for Sycamore and it brings in a HUGE crowd. The atmosphere is great and there is nothing better than having a ton of store owners anxiously awaiting little trick or treators.
Above is a picture of Kris and Ryker trick or treating at the confectionery. The Sycamore Confectionery gives out homemade chocolate suckers and yes, that would be the reason for the huge smile on Ryker's face.
We met up with our good friends Kayte and Brody and their little peanut Mason. Above is a picture of Brody and Kris with Mason and Ryker (aka... a dinosaur and Buzz Lightyear).
We ended our eventful evening meeting up with our other great friends Ryan and Kristin with their peanuts Layla and Grady for some good eating at Tasco (what a great end to the day)!
