Kris, Ryker and I hosted an engagement party for Auntie Shar and Uncle Puma this past weekend at our house and despite the heat the party turned out great. We did a backyard barbecue/luau theme, and I thought everything came together really well and turned out super cute. Above is one of my favorite picture of Auntie and Puma from their special day.
Above and below are a couple of pictures I took of the decorations before a lot of people arrived.
Thanks to my very creative friend Kristin, I copied a couple of her cute idea's she has used at previous parties and got a tons of compliments (thanks Kristin). Above is a picture of the drink/fruit/cheese table, I had fresh water and lemonade for the kiddo's and Sangria for the adults (huge hit).
I decided to do a kabob theme with all the food (great idea but extremely time consuming). Everything at the party was already kabob'd for the guest or had a stick next to it to make a kabob.
Above is a picture of Auntie Shar with her college girlfriends! I was so glad that everyone important to Sharon and Puma made it to the party and most came from far distances. THANK YOU to everyone for being there and making this day so special for the 2 of them. Pictured above from left to right, Candice, Kasey, Sharon, and Marsha.
Me and Auntie Shar :)
Meet Mr.Brooks (what a cutie right!?)! Brooks is one of Puma's and now Auntie Shar's nephews.
Above is a picture of Landon (Kris's and my nephew) being super silly at the pool! I absolutely love it when he gives me a big smile, it just lights up his face. Also pictured in the picture above is Auntie Tiff (Landon's mom) and Reece (Reece is Josh's other nephew and brother to Brooks).
Auntie with her son to be in-laws (Gary and Alice Franks).
Auntie and Candice :) Candice is one of Auntie's longest and dearest friends. They have been friends since 1st grade and both decided to attend SIU together. So from best friends to roomies that have seen and did it all together (thanks Candice for flying all the way from Florida to be there for Sharon and Puma).
Pictured above is my Aunt Sheila and mom, holding the adorable Miss Bella (my cousin Stephanie and Bob's daughter).
Uncle Puma with the boys! Picture left to right, Puma, Jeromy (Puma's brother), Gary (Josh's dad) and Larry (Josh's Uncle).
More picture's of the girls :)
Grandpa Urban doing a great job at the grill! A huge thanks to Papa Reid and Grandpa Urban for manning the grill all day long in the 90+ degree weather!
My mom and Sharon (such a great picture).
Kris and Candice :)
Pictured above is Lindsay (Josh's sister in-law), and her boys (Reece and Brooks). Thank god for that baby pool, it did a great job keeping the kiddo's cool all day long.
Pictured above from left to right, Kaitlin, Marsha, Kasey (came in from St.Louis) and Michael (another one that flew in from Florida for the event).
Puma and Sharon with Puma's aunt's (Carol and Martha) and great Aunt Ruth (who is 90+ years old).
Kris and I with Papa Reid and Grandma Mary :)
Me and Ryker along with Auntie with Grandpa Urban.
Of coarse I had to get one of me and my little monkey.
After a little toast done by me (thanking everyone for coming), Auntie handed out some adorable little boxes with a cute/sentimental card inside to some of the girls. Pictured above from left to right, Lindsay, Marsha, Ashley, Sharon, Kasey, Candice and Me.
All of us girls reading our sweet cards from Auntie (I think she brought a couple of tears to all of our eyes).
And.......what was inside those adorable little boxes!? A pink cookie shaped into a bridesmaid dress with with a cute little ribbon on the side asking all of us to be her bridesmaids (such a CUTE way to ask all the girls).
Michael and Sharon (another life long friend from grade school).
So serious!
Ryker in heaven after Kris brought out his Power Wheels race car.
Can you tell he LOVES this car!?
Brian and Ashley (Ashely is another one of Auntie's dearest and cloest friends from grade school).

Gary and Alice :)

I've been told that Reece is obsessed with anything baseball and you would understand why if you saw how good this 4 year old can hit the ball! He has been hitting the ball minus a tee since he was 3 years old (amazing right!?)!
Ryker's turn......!
I made Auntie and Puma cut the cake...........

and then feed it to eachother (such good sports)!!!!!!!
I'm so glad that we got a great day to celebrate Puma and Auntie's engagement.
A huge thanks again to everyone for taking the time to come near and far distances to help these 2 love birds celebreate.
AND
A huge thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Urban and Papa Reid and Grandma Rissman for all the help that provided to me to make this day so speical.
