Ryker at 16 months!

So, I'm a little behind and missed the 15 month post but I figured better now than never. I got a great opportunity at auntie Shar's house to play with my new camera that I got for Christmas and captured a ton of great pictures! Kris has been on me to learn my new camera so I can take Rykers photos, instead of paying a million dollars (I may be exaggerating) to have someone else do them, and it's official......I'm quiting my day job and becoming a professional photographer!!! Just kidding but wouldn't that be fun!? However, I do think I did a pretty good job at capturing him at 16 months and had a blast doing it:) Now for updates on Ryker.......where do I start? He is now 23 pounds and 30.5 inches long, he has 12 teeth with 2 more making their debut soon. He is a running/talking machine......words that he says all the time include: mama, dada, dog, hi, bye, Thomas, ouch, oh no, please, up, yeah, no and this. Words that we have heard once or twice include: horse, yellow, bus and red. He is still up and down with his eating, I really think it all depends on whether or not he is growing. He now shakes his head "no" (this is fun), signs "all done" all the time, and pushes your hands away so he can do things himself. He feeds himself most of his meals (I'm not saying it is clean but he can do it), points to a body part when asked (he has been doing this for about 2 months now), can identify a cow, horse, dog, and pig when lined up and can now open and close every door in our house! He loves to go up and down the stairs, color/scribble, throw a ball for his dog, play with play doh (he is very crafty), wrestle with mama and dada and wash his hands (he even rubs the soap together)! He no longer takes a tub bath, he now showers like a BIG boy and loves every second of it. He will even help wash his hair and body if asked. For the BIG news now........he is done breastfeeding (YES I SAID IT)!!! As sad as I am to see it go, we had a good opportunity to work on it and it was much easier than I anticipated. Sleeping has improved dramatically too, still not consistently sleeping through the night but definitely seeing it more often now. He is still our little monkey, and loves to climb on/up anything he can get away with. We have played with the idea of potty training and have had many successful pees and poops in the potty, but have not gotten serious with it just yet. Things we are currently working on/interested in.....the colors: red, blue, yellow and green, counting and dressing/undressing. It's hard to believe our baby is approaching a year and half (where did the time go?)! It has been the most amazing journey so far. Ryker is such a happy/silly little boys that just fills your heart with joy everyday (we are so very lucky)!
