Ryker's first doctor's appointment went really well and I was so excited to get out of the house for the first time. We had to follow up right away with the doctor because when we left the hospital Ryker's billirubin level was in the high range and continued to go up while we were at home. The doctor's felt that this was because he had a small hematoma on his head when he was born from pushing for so long. His poor little body was having a hard time breaking down the extra red blood cells and this causes an increase in the billirubin level. However, at the doctor's appointment the billirubin level finally started to decline and Ryker got a clean bill of health. At his doctor's appointment he was 6 pounds and 13 ounces.

This picture was right before the doctor listen to his heart and looked into his ears. We were very glad to get a clean bill of health and don't have to follow up now for a month.
