This week the baby's sensory development is exploding. His or her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision and touch. My book even says that he or she may be able to hear my voice now! The baby's weight is about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches from head to bottom. The baby's arms are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his or her body. The baby's kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on his or her scalp is sprouting.
This week has been a pretty big week for me too. As you can see from the picture posted above I've started to do some sprouting of my own. Unfortunately, I haven't felt this precious little baby move just yet but anxiously awaiting it everyday. Our 20 week ultrasound is this Thursday and I am still trying to persuade Kris into finding out the sex of the baby, however he is standing strong to his decision. I'm still hoping I can change his mind over the next couple of days, and will be sure to keep you all update on the appointment and hopefully the sex of our little peanut.
