Happy HALF Birthday to
Ryker! Kris and I can hardly believe our little man is 6 months old!
Ryker is such a wonderful little boy and no one could have prepared us for how rewarding parenthood is or how much love our hearts would hold for him. He has taken over our world for the past 6 months and Kris and I wouldn't have it
any other way!
Ryker is doing so much right now, and keeps his mommy and daddy very BUSY! He is currently
ATTEMPTING to be on the go all the time and this is one of his current frustrations
because he is not quite yet crawling. He
definitely has the concept and can go to his hands and knees from the sitting up position but that is where he runs into trouble. Once he gets to his hands and knees he goes right to his belly :) So I think we are very close to crawling but not quite there yet.
Ryker has become very chatty and realized he has a voice and that he can control the sounds coming out of it. When he is very excited or anticipating something he
squeals and
squeals and
squeals. He is laughing all the time now and always has a smile on his face. He knows when he does
something we find funny because he will attempt to do it again to get a reaction out of us (so funny)! He has 2 teeth (YES 2), I haven't posted pictures of them yet
because they have broken through but are not all the way in just yet (bottom 2). We started real food on his birthday, and so far he loves his veggies! I am making everything myself (trying to be the organic mom and also a little green) and so far so good! I
absolutely love the baby food maker my mom got me from William
Sonoma (makes it so easy!). So far he has tried squash, peas and green beans, feeding him is so much fun and
surprisingly no funny faces yet! We finally put away the baby bath tub and
Ryker now takes his bath in the big boy tub. He is taking all his naps in his big boy crib, however still
struggling a bit with bedtime (I think it might be because of his teeth)!

Ryker had his 6 month well visit on his half birthday, and he is quite the growing boy! He now weighs 14 pounds 9 ounces and 25.5 inches long!! Dr.
Cocjin reassured me I have a very healthy little boy. She also informed me that
Ryker needed a hair cut (we will have to see about that one :)!).
