On February 10th Ryker and I were awakened out of a deep sleep around 4:00Am in the morning. We woke up to everything in the house shaking (including us because I was scared out of my mind). I called Kris immediately (he just happened to be out snowplowing all night) and he assured me I was just dreaming and to go back to sleep! Convinced that I did actually feel the house rattle for about 5 seconds I turned on the news to find that the U-S Geological Survey reported a 4.3 magnitude quake just before 4:00AM about 5 miles east of Sycamore. Crazy right? Since when does Illinois have earthquakes? Well to say the least Ryker survived his first earthquake (the only thing that woke him up was me grabbing him out of bed and running for my phone!)!
